As of this evening all campuses of the Clarksville School District are under the threshold for masking. Effective 2/2 masks will be recommended, not required in all school buildings. Masks are still required on buses per federal transportation rules.
As of today, February 1, Clarksville Primary and Clarksville Elementary have dropped below the mask requirement threshold. Those two buildings are now transitioning to masks recommended.
The Clarksville School District will be in session tomorrow, January 24. As of right now all bus routes will run and all cafeterias will be open. This is still a situation where things can change quickly. We will keep you posted if anything changes.

Tomorrow, January 20th, will be an AMI day for the Clarksville School District. The number of positive cases and quarantines for both staff and students has continued to rise. With the current numbers of staff out we would be unable to supervise all classes and areas of the buildings. Additionally, we have multiple cafeterias who have too many staff out to be able to serve meals. Our transportation department has more bus drivers out than we are able to secure substitutes for. For these reasons, the Clarksville School District will transition to an AMI day for Thursday, January 20. We will attempt to reopen the buildings for onsite instruction on Friday. An announcement will be sent out on Thursday afternoon to let everyone know the status for Friday. Parents, please keep a close watch on your children and if you see any symptoms of COVID or test positive, please keep your child at home and contact the school nurse. Meals will be available for pickup. Please call your school office for information about where and when you can pick them up.

Yesterday, when the decision was made to reopen schools for onsite instruction, the district had enough staff and substitutes to cover all classes. Overnight an additional 20 staff members became quarantined or sick. Unfortunately, that number has continued to rise today. Most of the employees who are out will not be able to return to school until at least Thursday, January 20. For this reason, the Clarksville School District will transition to an AMI day for Wednesday, January 19. We will attempt to reopen the buildings for onsite instruction on Thursday. An announcement will be sent out on Wednesday afternoon to let everyone know the status for Thursday. Parents, please keep a close watch on your children and if you see any symptoms of COVID or test positive, please keep your child at home and contact the school nurse.
The Clarksville School District will reopen tomorrow, January 18th. The plan is for all campuses to be open. Currently all bus routes will run and all cafeterias will be able to feed students. This is still a dynamic situation and things can change quickly. We will keep you posted as soon as possible if anything changes.
Although the school district is closed, our ARcare School-Based Health Center is still open! This clinic is available for students, faculty & staff, and families of the school to visit. They do not see the general public at this time. If you are one of the people mentioned above, call to make an appointment.

School Meals will be available during AMI Days! Please call your building office during school hours to let them know you need meals for your student. Someone from Food Service will call you back to schedule a time and location for you to pickup meals.
Throughout the day the number of staff that are sick and/or quarantined continued to rise. Due to this we have no choice but to close the district to onsite instruction for January 12-14, and transition to AMI. Students will work on their AMI assignments.
Monday, January 17 is the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. School will be closed as scheduled. Classes will resume onsite on Tuesday, January 18.

The policy requires that masks be worn for 3 weeks. After the 3 week period, if infection rates have fallen below 2%, the mandatory mask requirement will be lifted.
Due to the number of staff that are currently sick and/or quarantined, individual schools or possibly the entire district may be forced to close on very short notice. We are asking that parents prepare themselves for the possibility of their child’s school closing because of COVID related issues. Our COVID numbers are headed up and based on the way things are trending we expect our buildings will hit the "mask required" trigger sometime next week. Our board adopted the “trigger” policy in October. The policy says when a school has 2% of its total population infected with COVID or 10% of population quarantined, masks will be required, for that building, for a period of 3 weeks. At the end of this period it will be determined if masks must be worn for an additional 3 weeks, or if they can again become optional. We will post additional COVID information here, so check back frequently.
