This week, our superstar school nurses have hit the road to attend the Arkansas School Nurse Association Conference! They're soaking in knowledge like sponges, swapping stories with fellow health heroes, and probably trying to out-stethoscope each other (professionally, of course). All this so they can come back even more equipped to keep our students healthy, happy, and ready to conquer the world—or at least make it through Monday. Clarksville School District will dismiss at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 30th. Lunch will be served prior to dismissal. This will be the last day of school. We hope you have a great summer break!

MENTOR SPOTLIGHT 🌟 Jerri Lynn Daniels Willis is our shining star this week and we are so grateful for her compassion and gentle spirit. We love her and are proud to call her a Mentor! She writes: “I enjoy watching my grandkids, and I have fostered two girls. They live with their grandparents, but we are still in their lives; praise God. That is why I wanted to be a mentor…Because I love them and wanted to be apart of someone else’s life. I had a hard childhood and I wanted to help make a difference a child’s life. I had a lady who helped me when I was growing up and I just wanted to make a difference. I love the little girl I mentor; she is so sweet and we have fun painting, reading, and eating together. It’s a great program and a privilege to get to be apart of it! I also love going to the Link Church.” Thank you, Jerri! ❤️

The Clarksville School District has a Bus Mechanic position open for the 2025-2026 SY. This position will have a 250-day contract with 10 days of vacation. Start date is July 1, 2025. Mentor Spotlight 🌟 Abby Garrett (Abby Jane) is one of the kindest people you will meet! Her love of her community and the service work she does makes us proud to have her in our PROJECT MENTOR program. Thank you Abby Jane! She writes: “I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters and working with the team at Safe Haven. What I enjoy most about the mentoring program is watching my mentee gain confidence and open up over time. I wanted to be a mentor because I wanted to support prevention efforts in our community”.

PROJECT MENTOR spotlight 🌟 Chris Case We are grateful for your willingness to mentor students and the years you have been a part of this program! Chris shares with us his thoughts… “I am old school. I try to promote social skills that they can use in the future to communicate more comfortably with teachers, classmates, and possibly future employers. One of the things I enjoy the most is that over the years seeing trust build up in the companionship; this is a gradual process. I would encourage  anyone who thinks they have time and patience to become a part of the Mentor /Mentee program. There’s a shortage of Mentors and the program is so rewarding as you see the results of the program in the child’s life”.
