Due to the Governor's announcement lifting the mask mandate, we wanted to remind our parents that we will continue our mask policy until the end of this school year. This was decided by our school board at the March meeting.

The Clarksville School District became aware that a group of students intended to meet at a location off campus and attach flags to their vehicles so that they would be prominently displayed as they drove onto the high school student parking lot. Due to the complexity of policing these items and the safety concerns that arise from such activities, the administration does not allow any flags to be flown from vehicles on school grounds. Our legal understanding of this matter is that if a student is allowed to prominently display a flag on their vehicle, regardless of the meaning behind the flag, we would have to allow everyone to display a flag of their choosing. We are here to provide a constitutionally mandated, free and appropriate education for all of our students. We are not here to inspect or referee issues that arise when students are allowed to rig flags to their vehicles.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are February 11. Similar to last semester, our parent-teacher conferences will be conducted using phone calls. Our teachers will be calling parents on the phone, starting with students who have a D or F in a class. Students who have a C or better may not receive a call. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to call the school or use Schoology to conference with their child's teacher. Prior to parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, students should bring home a grade sheet for parents to sign on Wednesday.

School Based Telehealth Dear Parents/Guardians, ARcare is excited to be working with the Clarksville School District by offering parents and students a new option for pediatric care. Through telemedicine technology, your child can connect with one of our providers for quick assessment and treatment within minutes without even having to leave school. With a parent’s permission, the student will be evaluated by an ARcare provider through a secure, HIPAA compliant video connection. With the assistance of a school nurse, and the use of special equipment, our provider can listen to a patient’s heart and lungs and examine their ears, throat, eyes and skin conditions. Once the assessment is complete, a summary of the visit and instructions for follow-up care is given to the parent. Our provider will submit an order for prescription medications to the pharmacy of your choosing, if needed. Our school-based telehealth clinic can provide treatment to many common illnesses. Some of those illnesses and conditions include: allergies, earaches, fever, headaches, coughs and colds, respiratory infections, pink eye, rashes, bug bites, nausea and vomiting, muscle sprains and urinary tract infections. In addition to onsite rapid testing for flu and strep, COVID-19 testing will also be available. If you would like for your child to have access to our school-based telemedicine program, you can register electronically using the online link https://hipaa.jotform.com/93155638366163 or you can complete a paper packet (available at your school nurse’s office) and return to your child’s school. In addition, the school nurse will always contact a parent/guardian before a child receives any telemedicine services. If the nurse is unable to reach a parent/guardian, your child will be given the care normally provided by school health staff. Please contact the school or our office with any questions you may have. Respectfully, ARcare | Coordinated Care Program 623 N 9th St. Ste 500, Augusta, AR 72006 (870) 347-3461
