Face Coverings COVID-19

The Clarksville School Board met Monday evening, July 20, 2020, for their regular monthly school board meeting. During the meeting the board adopted changes to the “Return to Learning” document that was released to the public on, July 10th. This document outlines the district’s plan for having school during the COVID-19 pandemic. The change reflects the governor’s proclamation concerning the mandate to wear face coverings in public places. Clarksville Schools will require that all students, in grades 4-12, wear a face covering as outlined in the governor’s proclamation. Because the mandate exempts persons younger than 10 years of age, the board decided to exempt grades K-3, due to building configurations, from the mandatory order. However, it is strongly recommended that our students in grades K-3 wear face coverings! The district will provide one washable face covering for every student, but it is the responsibility of the parent to insure their child has a face covering when the child is in a public space. Public school is a public space that falls under the governor’s face covering proclamation.
