Office: 479-774-6169

Here’s a great opportunity for military families and veterans to learn about an amazing resource that is available to them FOR FREE here in Arkansas.

I’m talking about the Veterans Pro Bono Services Center of the UALR Bowen School of Law.

The Director of that program, Dr. Zach Baumgarten, will join us for two online Microsoft Teams sessions – December 16 at 1:00 PM and December 17 at 9:00 AM – to provide information about the program.  Those sessions are open to anyone to attend, so please share this information with military families and veterans in your schools and school districts and invite your school-level military family education facilitators to attend.

Here’s the log in information for those two sessions:

Food for Military Families:

Militarymeals.org, a program operated by the Military Family Advisor Network.

Here are the basics about the program:

Militarymeals.org is a website run by the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) to provide grocery assistance to military families. Through the site, active-duty, Guard, and Reserve households can sign up to receive free grocery boxes and Commissary gift cards delivered directly to their homes.

 Key details about the program:

  • Purpose: The initiative provides immediate support to military families facing food insecurity, which has been a consistent issue within the military community.

  • Sign-up: Families can apply directly on the militarymeals.org website and verify their service.

  • Assistance provided: A typical box, created in partnership with organizations like Umoja Health, is packed with shelf-stable food designed to feed a family for a week. A Commissary gift card is also included.

Please also visit this MFAN page – scroll to the bottom and you’ll find some links to other programs that provide assistance to military families.
