School Based Telehealth Dear Parents/Guardians, ARcare is excited to be working with the Clarksville School District by offering parents and students a new option for pediatric care. Through telemedicine technology, your child can connect with one of our providers for quick assessment and treatment within minutes without even having to leave school. With a parent’s permission, the student will be evaluated by an ARcare provider through a secure, HIPAA compliant video connection. With the assistance of a school nurse, and the use of special equipment, our provider can listen to a patient’s heart and lungs and examine their ears, throat, eyes and skin conditions. Once the assessment is complete, a summary of the visit and instructions for follow-up care is given to the parent. Our provider will submit an order for prescription medications to the pharmacy of your choosing, if needed. Our school-based telehealth clinic can provide treatment to many common illnesses. Some of those illnesses and conditions include: allergies, earaches, fever, headaches, coughs and colds, respiratory infections, pink eye, rashes, bug bites, nausea and vomiting, muscle sprains and urinary tract infections. In addition to onsite rapid testing for flu and strep, COVID-19 testing will also be available. If you would like for your child to have access to our school-based telemedicine program, you can register electronically using the online link https://hipaa.jotform.com/93155638366163 or you can complete a paper packet (available at your school nurse’s office) and return to your child’s school. In addition, the school nurse will always contact a parent/guardian before a child receives any telemedicine services. If the nurse is unable to reach a parent/guardian, your child will be given the care normally provided by school health staff. Please contact the school or our office with any questions you may have. Respectfully, ARcare | Coordinated Care Program 623 N 9th St. Ste 500, Augusta, AR 72006 (870) 347-3461

This semester ends on December 18th, which is the last day of school prior to the Christmas break. The following changes are ONLY for "Blended Fridays:" This week will bring our third “Blended Friday.” We originally stated we would run regular bus routes for the first two weeks, in order to determine the number of buses, and bus stops needed to provide for the students electing to come on-site for the blended virtual day. After observing the first two Fridays, we will no longer make door to door bus stops. Instead, the following changes will be made to bus stops, and pick-up and drop-off times. BLENDED FRIDAY BUS STOPS AND TIMES: West Part of District—Bus #36 Crosswoods/Kountry Kitchen (Big parking Lot off Hwy. 64) South/Central Part of District—Bus #39 Clarksville Medical Group (North side parking lot across street, McKennon St.) Northwest Part of District—Bus #43 U of O Gym (North side of parking lot on Buchanan St.) Northeast Part of District—Bus #44 Soccer Complex (Parking lot off Hwy. 164 behind Green Source Recycling) East Part of District—Bus #46 Atwoods (Parking lot off Rogers St.) The morning bus stop times for ALL locations will be 7:30 a.m. The afternoon bus stop times for ALL locations will be 12:10 p.m.

The Clarksville School Board recently approved a change to the district’s Ready for Learning Plan. The change creates a 4+1 blended schedule. This means Monday through Thursday will be school as normal, but Friday will be a blended-virtual, and on-site day. The first blended day will begin Friday, October 9th. “Blended Fridays” give parents/students the option of learning from home or school. Students who choose to learn from home on Fridays will not be counted absent. Instruction on blended Fridays will be 100% virtual. These are catch-up days for teachers and students: there will be no new content taught or major assessments given. This change is being made primarily to help ease the burden on our faculty. We have listened and we trust the feedback received from our teachers: the amount of work required with our current model of instruction is not sustainable. Blended Fridays will give teachers protected time for the added tasks that have come with this unusual school year, and are designed to bring relief to everyone: parents, students, and staff. This is a hard time for all of us. We hope this will help. Meals will be provided to all students that choose to attend school on blended Fridays. Pickup meals will also be provided for virtual students. Buses will continue to run regular routes for the first two blended Fridays. However, starting on October 23rd, bus stops, routes, and times will be changing. We will provide updates on the busing adjustments. The Clarksville School District uses a messaging service to produce mass phone calls. Mass phone calls from Clarksville School District will come from the following phone number: 501-712-2633. You may wish to add this number to your phone’s contact list.
All Clarksville Schools will be OPEN for onsite learning tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29. The following link will take you to a video explaining our situation. https://youtu.be/FM7bpWc2QqQ
Clarksville Schools will be closed to onsite learning Monday, September 28, 2020. The situation will be reevaluated Monday to determine if school can reopen, or if the district should remain closed to onsite learning. All faculty and staff will report as usual to engage our students through remote learning. All students need to continue with their classes while at home via Schoology. We hope to have an update on this situation by close of business Monday. This closure is due to the number of staff members that are currently infected or under quarantine due to COVID-19. Please see attachments regarding school meal distributions. If you have any concerns please contact your child's building principal or the superintendent's office. https://5il.co/lhhq https://5il.co/lhhu https://5il.co/lhhp
Spanish translation of the parent /teacher conference information that was posted 2 days ago.
This year, due to COVID-19, our parent/teacher conferences will not be in-person meetings. Instead, our teachers will be calling parents on the phone, starting with the students that are at most risk of failing. Due to a lack of time, all parents may not be called on the scheduled parent/teacher conference date. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to call the school or use Schoology to conference with their child's teacher.
Starting today, September 3, 2020, Clarksville Schools will serve ALL students free breakfast and lunch. We are told this will last for the remainder of this semester.

This website will keep the public notified regarding the number of COVID cases confirmed on a given day within our district. This is not an overall total number. It is only the number of positive cases confirmed on the indicated date along with the "probable close contacts" associated with the positive case that must also quarantine. https://sites.google.com/a/csdar.org/covid-19-daily-case-count/

We have had a senior high football player test positive for COVID-19. We are suspending all levels of football until further notice.
Another football coach has tested positive for COVID-19. Our coaches have been working very hard to maintain social distancing with the team members and wear masks at all times during practice. Based on the ADH guidelines we will continue with practice.
We have a couple of recently posted videos that will help parents navigate the Schoology App. Schoology is how our teachers, students and parents will communicate, receive class instruction and turn in assignments electronically. https://www.facebook.com/clarksvillejuniorhigh/videos/352081262490247 https://youtu.be/WU-3OHmqLCQ

All sports have been suspended for the time being. We have had 2 football boys test positive for COVID. They also play on a baseball team that has Clarksville basketball players on the team. With all the possible cross team exposure we decided to suspend all athletics until the State Health Dept can conduct the "contact tracing."
