Arkansas Department of Education Survey

Arkansas Deptartment of Education has provided a survey for parents to rate your school district concerning many areas. Please take five minutes to complete the survey.

The results will be received by March 27th and will be reviewed and will aide in making decisions for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.

The Clarksville School District is now accepting students
Under Arkansas Public School Choice Act which allows parents to apply
for admission of their child to attend a school in a district beyond the
one in which the parent resides.

Any parent residing outside the Clarksville School District that
desires to send their child to school in the Clarksville School District
beginning with the 2018-2019 school year may obtain an application at the
Administration Building at 1701 Clark Road.

Completed applications must be received by May 1, 2018

Pyron has its first ever competition robotics team! The formation of this team was made possible with a grant. The Pyron CUBS Vex IQ Robotics team has worked after school and in the media center since the second week of November to build a clawbot and learn how to run it on a Vex IQ field. On Saturday, December 2 they competed at the New Teams Tournament held at UALR. The day-long event ended with the Pyron CUBS placing ninth overall and third in the finals tournament. WOW! Congratulations to this new team: (pictured left to right) Coach, Nikki Patterson, Peyton Leeds, Samantha Montelongo, Olivia Pipkins, Morgan Lensing, and Sam Howe. 2018 Graduation Live Stream

Clarksville Public Schools will be Live Streaming the Graduation ceremonies Friday May 18 starting at 6:45. Graduation will start at 7:00 pm at ATU Tucker Colosseum.

The summer meal program will begin June 6th and go through June 19th,
Monday thru Friday. The meals will be served at Pyron Elementary. All children 18 and under may eat breakfast and/or lunch at no charge. Adult breakfast is $2.00 and adult lunch is $3.50. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am - 8:30 am. Lunch will be served from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. For more information please call the Child Nutrition office at 479-979-6008. Everyone is welcome.

Counselors Week

National School Counselors week was observed Feb. 5-9. During our "something to roar about" segment of the board meeting on February 15th, Assistant Superintendent Paul Dean recognized district counselors for their work. Counselors who were presented with a plaque of appreciation were, Laura Hyden, Primary; Shelly Frew, Pyron; Sheila Helms, Kraus; Amanda Banning, junior high school; Melissa Wiggins, high school; and Marsha Tindell, district testing coordinator.

The Johnson County Graphic contained a report that a school employee received a message via a social media site which contained a threat of a school shooting. This message was not a threat to any Clarksville school. This threat was made toward schools in another state. The employee wanted to make sure the proper authorities were notified of this post.
